I have lived in Auckley since 1972 and so I am passionate about contributing to make the day a success. I have some experience from the early eighties when I was Secretary of the Show Committee. I hope to make as good a job as the last long serving Chairman, Clive Hepworth, who through his enthusiasm kept the show alive.
Web Site
We have introduced a number of exciting new projects; the first is to establish our own web site. I would urge you to have a look and in particular use the ‘Guest Book’ to inform us how the show went, what went well, what went not so well. Is there anything missing from the show, what would YOU like to see happen. We need you to communicate your thoughts. If you find you have a special photograph from the show and would like to share it on our site send it by e-mail to me (see contact page) or contact me to arrange its collection.
Auckley Show 200 + Club
This was the inspiration of Committee member Mandy. I have been amazed at the financial support this has generated and only possible by you the members contributing with so much enthusiasm.
Winning numbers and how to join are published on our web site, and in the window of Auckley News on Ellers Lane at Auckley.
The Marquee
To celebrate Auckley Show’s return to the Riverside Park venue, the Marquee will be lined to create that extra special atmosphere and ambience for both the day and night’s entertainment and lit by chandeliers for even more effect. The Schedule for the Vegetables, Produce and Craft exhibits can be found in the brochure. Please support this special part of the event and have a go; we have introduced some cash prizes as an added incentive to cover your costs.

Special Prizes will be awarded for these two classes. I hope mums dads grans/dads aunties and uncles are going to support their youngsters in this. A great outdoor hobby that appears to have fallen by the wayside.
Entertainment during the afternoon
The Gas Light Trio will perform throughout the day. The Trio have a huge repertoire including: Latin, Standards, Instrumentals, Novelty Songs, Country, Dixie, Traditional and Blues Numbers.
For those of you who like a tipple we have a ‘Beer Festival’. There will be at least ten beers to taste supplied by The Idle Brewery at West Stockwith. Talent Show and Disco
The 16 years and under Talent show will take place in the Marquee on Friday 8th August followed by their disco. The competition will be called ‘Auckley’s got talent’. To assist in planning a small fee is made for the disco so we can gauge the number attending. Make sure you get your tickets. As in the past parents are invited to bring their own refreshments and make this a family event.
Fishing Competition
Takes place at Bank End Fisheries on Thursday 7th August.
Places are limited for this; book your peg as soon as possible.
Evening Entertainment
This years evening event will be something special. We have two singers:-
Ciccolina -
Be prepared to listen to this singer portraying songs as you have never heard before.
Steve Ritchie -
a lively entertainer who was born in Auckley sings your favourite songs from the past 40 years, Steve was voted runner up of the East Midlands Talent Awards 2007.
Both supported with the best disco in South Yorkshire hosted by Roger Lipski who is guaranteed to fill the floor.
We also have a two course meal to a very high standard provided by Occasions of Epworth. Round tables will also be introduced to create that perfect social gathering of family and friends of The Auckley Show. Tickets are available from committee members at £15 each. I am optimistic this will be a sell out, don’t leave it too long before you organise your night out.
Parish Council
On behalf of the Committee and Community we would like to express thanks to the generosity of Auckley Parish Council who provide free use of the venue and a cash donation to support us, the advertisers in this brochure, those who have donated prizes, organised displays and helped out on the day.
I hope to meet you at the show and don’t forget the day event continues to be free.
